Ability Cards are discoverable items with special effects that give you upgrades and buffs. They can be found hidden in chests throughout Tunic. You can use Golden Coins, also found in chests, to expand your number of card slots so you can equip more Ability Cards at one time. The list of Ability Cards can be found on page 51 of the in-game instruction manual. But while it lists the names of the cards, their effects will remain a mystery until you try them out yourself.

Below you'll find the list of complete Ability Cards, their effects, and a brief description of where to find them.

Card Locations

Some cards may be harder to find than others. Below you'll find a detailed list of where in the world you can find each ability card.

Orange Peril Ring

Location: The Dark Tomb

In the first room, on the pedestal above the stone ladder.

Cyan Peril Ring

Location: West Garden

After entering, take the path all the way down and walk past the set of stairs leading up to the Hero's Grave. You walk on the ledge to follow the path behind the set of stairs. You'll find the treasure chest containing the ability card around the corner.

Inverted Ash

Location: The Overworld

When making your way to the Quarry for the first time, you can find this treasure chest tucked away in a corner after crossing the narrow stone bridge guarded by an Envoy enemy.

Anklet

Location: Forest Fortress

To the left of the Hero's Grave.

Perfume

Location: The Swamp

This might be easier to find during the night but after you go through the gate in the Swamp, immediately turn to the right to climb up the wooden ladder and find the treasure chest sitting between two statues.

Tincture

Location: Ruined Atoll

After entering the Ruined Atoll, run to the giant fox statue in the very center and then go west. You'll see a red-brick building that has been mostly destroyed. On the other side of it you'll find an Envoy enemy. Kill them and run through the passageway to find the treasure chest on the other side.

Bracer

Location: Ruined Atoll

From the Overworld, run along the shoreline next to the bridge that leads to the Ruined Atoll. When you enter the area, it will appear that you've reached a dead end. Run along the wall to find a hidden passage that lets you cross over to the other side.

From there, run along the beach to reach the treasure chest that contains the Bracer ability card.

Lucky Cup

Location: The Overworld

Go to the southwest corner of the Overworld. As you reach the bridge that leads to the Ruined Atoll, go west past the Autobolt and then run along the ledge to find the treasure chest containing the Lucky Cup ability card.

Muffling Bell

Location: Beneath the Eastern Vault

After entering the large open room filled with spiders in the west most part of Beneath the Eastern Vault, find the waterfall and walk into it. The treasure chest will be inside.

Louder Echo

Location: Under the Well

Make your way north until you reach the hallway with Slorm enemies and a purple power line running through the middle. Run all the way down the hall and at the very end of it, go up to find an opening in the wall. The treasure chest will be in the next room.

Scavenger's Mask

Location: The Monastery

After crossing the dark miasma filled portion of the Monastery, run up the stairs and find the treasure chest next to the Hero's Grave.

Dagger Strap

Location: The Swamp

After reaching the gate in the Swamp, don't go into the next section and instead make a right. You'll find the treasure chest containing the Dagger Strap in the corner, up against the twisted fence.

Magic Echo

Location: Ruined Atoll

Run to the very south of the map until you reach the gate. Climb up the wooden ladder to find the treasure chest on top of the building.

??? (Fire Sword)

Location: The Overworld

From the game's starting point, run across the bridge and go to the right towards the bridge that leads to the Swamp. On the building will be a door that has a pattern drawn on it. Copy the pattern with the D-pad on your controller to open the door and find the ability card inside.

D-pad code: Down, Right, Up, Left, Up, Right

Aura's Gem

Location: From the fast travel teleporter, run all the way north and head west the first chance you get. Make your way up the winding path until you find a set of rafters and a steel ladder. Climb the ladder and then go right again to find another steel ladder. The ability card will be in the treasure chest found at the top of the rafter.

Bone

Location: Ruined Atoll

This ability card isn't listed in the manual but can be found in the same area as the Tincture ability card. Head to the Ruined Atoll and look for a rock with a flower on top of it and throw a bomb up against the wall behind it. Doing this will reveal a hidden doorway where you'll find the Bone ability card in a treasure chest inside.
